About Design KG006 - The Aurora Borealis Edition
KG006 is the aurora borealis-themed option in our R MAX lineup - built for riders who want a unique, color-shifting look. The design features flowing northern lights with color-shifting depth executed in magenta, teal, and deep purple. A wrap that changes character with the light.
The layout is templated directly from OEM Can-Am 4-seat body panels - every cut, edge, and seam matches the body geometry to the millimeter. Sport, X rs, and Smart-Shox 4-seat trims share identical body panels and accept the KG006 kit without modification. This wrap pairs especially well with RGB underglow, holographic accents, smoked windshields, color-shifting wheel center caps.
Roof Wrap - Add-On Upgrade
The base KG006 kit covers all major exterior body panels but does not include the roof. Matching roof wrap is available as a +$300 upgrade - select the roof variant when ordering, or contact us before checkout. The roof upgrade includes templated coverage for both hard top and canvas configurations, designed to match the KG006 body layout.
The Substance Material Stack
Every KG006 kit is built on a 21mil laminated stack using two race-proven Substance Incorporated products: Ultracurve® X1 print media bonded under Ultracurve® 1500 overlaminate. Both products are USA-made and were co-developed with Star Racing Yamaha and Monster Energy Kawasaki for the demands of professional motocross.
The print media - Ultracurve X1 (152 micron / 6 mil): A flexible polymeric vinyl with proprietary FLO Technology for bubble-free installation, backed by an ultra-aggressive solvent-based pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive engineered specifically for the low surface energy plastics found on UTVs, ATVs, and motocross machines. Peel adhesion measures 35N/25mm - more than double typical high-tack adhesives.
The overlaminate - Ultracurve 1500 (381 micron / 15 mil): A 15mil clear vinyl overlaminate offering 336N/25mm tensile strength, unmatched gloss and clarity, and industry-leading abrasion resistance. The same overlaminate seen on Eli Tomac's Monster Energy KX450F at the Monster Energy Cup.
DIY Installation
KG006 installs in 5 to 10 hours for an experienced installer with the body panels off the chassis. The 4-seat chassis takes longer than 2-seat machines because of additional door panels and extended bedwork. Tools needed: heat gun, felt-edged squeegee, isopropyl alcohol at 91% or higher, clean microfiber towels, sharp utility blade. Detailed step-by-step instructions ship with every kit. Pro install runs $400-$900 in most US markets.
Care & Lifespan
Treated right, KG006 lasts 3 to 5+ years under normal trail riding. Wash gently with mild soap and low-pressure water. Keep pressure washer wands at least 12 inches from the surface. Avoid harsh chemicals like degreasers, brake cleaner, or gasoline near the graphics. Store the R MAX out of direct sun when possible to extend wrap life.
