How to Install ATV, UTV & Can-Am Ryker Graphics Kits (Step-by-Step)
Installing a KrazyGraphics kit the right way makes a huge difference in how clean it looks and how long it lasts. This guide covers the best practices for installing ATV graphics kits, UTV wrap kits, and Can-Am Ryker graphics.
What You Need
- ✔ Microfiber towels (clean + dry)
- ✔ Isopropyl alcohol (70%+)
- ✔ Plastic squeegee (or felt-edge squeegee)
- ✔ Heat gun or hair dryer
- ✔ Sharp blade / hobby knife
- ✔ Masking tape (for positioning)
Step 1: Wash & Degrease
Wash plastics thoroughly, then wipe all surfaces with isopropyl alcohol. Remove mud, dust, oils, and silicone-based detail sprays. Adhesion depends on a clean surface.
Step 2: Test Fit (Dry Fit)
Before peeling anything, hold each piece in place to understand alignment. Use a few pieces of masking tape as “hinges” to lock the position.
Step 3: Peel, Place, and Tack
Peel a small section of backing first (don’t rip it all off at once). Lightly place the vinyl and tack it in the key alignment points. This keeps the piece from drifting.
Step 4: Squeegee From the Center Out
Use firm, even pressure and push air outward. Work slowly in small sections. If you trap air, lift gently and re-lay the vinyl.
Step 5: Heat & Conform Around Curves
Use a heat gun on low/medium to soften the vinyl so it conforms around curves and edges. Don’t overheat — warm it, shape it, then squeegee it down.
Step 6: Post-Heat the Edges (Most Important)
After the piece is fully installed, warm the edges and seams again and press firmly. This “post-heat” step helps prevent lifting over time.
Step 7: Let It Cure
Avoid pressure washing for 24–48 hours. If possible, keep the machine indoors or dry while the adhesive fully bonds.
Common Questions
Can I install in the cold?
It’s possible, but not recommended. Warm the plastics and vinyl, and work in a heated space for best results.
What if I get bubbles?
Small bubbles often settle. For stubborn ones, lift and re-squeegee. If needed, a tiny pinhole can release trapped air.
Will pressure washing ruin the graphics?
Wait 24–48 hours after install. Avoid blasting edges at close range. Use a wider spray pattern.
