About Design KG024 - The Stealth Edition

KG024 is the blackout-spec option in our R MAX lineup - built for owners who want their machine to look serious, not loud. The design uses gunmetal blacks, brushed-chrome silver accent strips, and ice-blue tactical linework arranged in tight, functional patterns that flow with the body lines instead of fighting them. There's no tribal pattern, no flames, no neon - just a clean, military-inspired layout that reads as professional grade. If KG025 is a hazard sign and KG026 is a Lamborghini livery, KG024 is the unmarked black SUV at the back of the convoy.

The layout is templated directly from OEM Can-Am 4-seat body panels - every cut, edge, and seam is dialed to the millimeter, and there's no trimming or overlap to deal with at install. The Sport, X rs, and Smart-Shox 4-seat trims all use identical body geometry, so KG024 fits all three without modification. This is the wrap to choose if you want your R MAX to look like a piece of professional equipment, not a billboard. Pairs especially well with black suspension components, bronze beadlocks, and tinted windshields.

Roof Wrap - Add-On Upgrade

The base KG024 kit covers all major exterior body panels but does not include the roof. Matching roof wrap is available as a +$300 upgrade - select the roof variant when ordering, or contact us before checkout to have it added. The roof upgrade includes templated coverage for both hard top and canvas configurations, designed to match the KG024 body layout for a complete unified look.

The Substance Material Stack

Every KG024 kit is built on a 21mil laminated stack using two race-proven Substance Incorporated products: Ultracurve® X1 print media bonded under Ultracurve® 1500 overlaminate. Both products are USA-made and were co-developed with Star Racing Yamaha and Monster Energy Kawasaki for the demands of professional motocross.

The print media - Ultracurve X1 (152 micron / 6 mil): A revolutionary flexible polymeric vinyl with proprietary FLO Technology for bubble-free installation, backed by an ultra-aggressive solvent-based pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive engineered specifically for the low surface energy plastics found on UTVs, ATVs, and motocross machines. Peel adhesion measures 35N/25mm - more than double typical high-tack adhesives.

The overlaminate - Ultracurve 1500 (381 micron / 15 mil): A 15mil clear vinyl overlaminate offering 336N/25mm tensile strength, unmatched gloss and clarity, and industry-leading abrasion resistance. The same overlaminate seen on Eli Tomac's Monster Energy KX450F at the Monster Energy Cup.

This material spec costs significantly more per square foot than generic 3M cast vinyl - but on a $40,000+ flagship UTV like the R MAX, it's worth it. Substance holds tighter to R-platform plastics, resists lifting at door edges and fender corners, survives mud, sand, water crossings, and pressure washing, and looks newer longer.

DIY Installation

KG024 installs in roughly 5 to 10 hours for an experienced installer with the body panels off the chassis. The darker base palette is actually slightly more forgiving than bright designs - small alignment imperfections at edges and seams are less visible against gunmetal black than they are against neon green or hazard yellow. That said, you still want to take your time. A clean indoor workspace, a heat gun (at low setting for tight curves), a felt-edged squeegee, IPA at 91% or higher, fresh microfiber towels, a sharp blade, and patience are all required. Detailed illustrated instructions ship with every kit. Pro install from a local wrap shop usually runs $400-$900 in the US, more for shops that specialize in UTVs.

Care & Lifespan

Treated right, KG024 lasts 3 to 5+ years under normal trail riding. Wash gently with mild soap and low-pressure water. Keep pressure washer wands at least 12 inches from the surface. Avoid harsh chemicals like degreasers, brake cleaner, or gasoline near the graphics. Store the R MAX out of direct sun when possible to extend wrap life.

Customization

KG024 looks great as-is, but if you want to push it further we can work in unit numbers, agency markings, or subtle accent colors (deep red, OD green, bronze, etc.) without losing the tactical look.
