About Design KG025 - The Toxic Edition

KG025 is built for owners who want their R MAX to look unmistakable on the trail. The toxic-themed layout combines hazard-yellow chevrons, biohazard-green accent panels, and acid-green linework that runs from the front fenders, sweeps across the doors, and terminates in cleanly-cut rear quarter panels. Where most "aggressive" UTV wraps fall back on tribal flames or generic camo, KG025 leans into industrial hazard aesthetics - the kind you'd see on a military fuel tanker or a chemical-handling vehicle. It reads dangerous from 50 feet away, which is the point.

The layout is templated from OEM Can-Am 4-seat body panels - no trimming, no guessing, no overlap at the seam lines. Sport, X rs, and Smart-Shox 4-seat trims all share the same body geometry and accept the same kit without modification. KG025 is one of the loudest options in our R MAX catalog, so if you want your machine to disappear into the trail, look at our subdued KG026 or carbon-themed designs instead. KG025 is the option for owners who want every other rider at the trailhead to look twice.

Roof Wrap - Add-On Upgrade

The base KG025 kit covers all major exterior body panels but does not include the roof. Matching roof wrap is available as a +$300 upgrade - select the roof variant when ordering, or contact us before checkout to have it added. The roof upgrade includes templated coverage for both hard top and canvas configurations, designed to match the KG025 body layout for a complete unified look.

The Substance Material Stack

Every KG025 kit is built on a 21mil laminated stack using two race-proven Substance Incorporated products: Ultracurve® X1 print media bonded under Ultracurve® 1500 overlaminate. Both products are USA-made and were co-developed with Star Racing Yamaha and Monster Energy Kawasaki for the demands of professional motocross.

The print media - Ultracurve X1 (152 micron / 6 mil): A revolutionary flexible polymeric vinyl with proprietary FLO Technology for bubble-free installation, backed by an ultra-aggressive solvent-based pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive engineered specifically for the low surface energy plastics found on UTVs, ATVs, and motocross machines. Peel adhesion measures 35N/25mm - more than double typical high-tack adhesives.

The overlaminate - Ultracurve 1500 (381 micron / 15 mil): A 15mil clear vinyl overlaminate offering 336N/25mm tensile strength, unmatched gloss and clarity, and industry-leading abrasion resistance. The same overlaminate seen on Eli Tomac's Monster Energy KX450F at the Monster Energy Cup.

This material spec costs significantly more per square foot than generic 3M cast vinyl - but on a $40,000+ flagship UTV like the R MAX, it's worth it. Substance holds tighter to R-platform plastics, resists lifting at door edges and fender corners, survives mud, sand, water crossings, and pressure washing, and looks newer longer.

DIY Installation

The toxic-themed KG025 takes the same install time as our other R MAX kits - about 5 to 10 hours for an experienced installer working with the body panels removed. Plan for a full Saturday if it's your first wrap. The 4-seat chassis adds time over the 2-seat models because of the rear doors and extended bedwork. You'll want a clean indoor workspace, a heat gun, a felt-edged squeegee, isopropyl alcohol at 91% or higher, clean microfiber towels, a fresh utility blade, and a quiet afternoon. Step-by-step illustrated instructions ship with every kit. If you'd rather pay someone, professional install from a local wrap shop runs $400-$900 in most US markets.

Care & Lifespan

Treated right, KG025 lasts 3 to 5+ years under normal trail riding. Wash gently with mild soap and low-pressure water. Keep pressure washer wands at least 12 inches from the surface. Avoid harsh chemicals like degreasers, brake cleaner, or gasoline near the graphics. Store the R MAX out of direct sun when possible to extend wrap life.
